Thinking I'm going to start a support group for homosexual canadian alcoholics.
I'll call it "Gay Eh" instead of "AA"
Had a cool thing happen yesterday. I was on the back patio having a smoke when a squirrel came sauntering up. He was holding an acorn or some kind of nut in his paws and sat up on it's hind legs and stared at me for about 20 seconds, occasioanally tilting his head from side to side as if examining me to try and figure out what/who I was. Then just ambled off back towards the trees. It was prety cool.
Big sis Laura came and visited me and took me out to lunch today. It was a nice visit. (free lunch is always good...haha). We had a good chat about my recovery and life in the house etc. When she dropped me off she gave me a big hug and told me she was proud of me and loved me. I'm gonna go home and cry now. But happy tears!
(Belated) Birthday cake at the house tonight! And a present! good times, good times!
Praying for Tyler tonight. Had a relapse and has had to go to a different recovery house ( a more in-depth/intense program. He's a good guy.

Squirrels are neat critters. I love to watch them, and I've been known to fry them up for supper, but only ones I never befriended or knew personally. Squirrel friends are off limits for the dinner table.
I gotta say it: do you think the squirrel was trying to decide exactly what kind of nut you are? lol ;o)
Glad you had a good visit with your sis! Free lunch is always good, not to mention birthday cake and presents! I didn't get birthday or anniversary cake, but I've been treated to dinner out several times over the last few days, so I'm not complaining over not having a cake.
I'll pray for Tyler too. I hope the more intensive program helps him and does the trick this time.
Have a great, sober new week, Alex. :o)
Love and hugs,
Diane
