I think "little bit" has it right. At the time the movie was a ground-breaking satirical movie that walked a fine line between knocking violence and glorifying it. The brilliant use of the actors, the omnipresent attack on the media, the ties to the rest of Tarantino's universe, and one of the best soundtracks ever make this a hit for me.
People who see the movie as a comedy miss the point. Similarly, people who see it just as a celebration of violence miss the point.

I think at the time it came it out was "new, hip and orginal". Now, everyone has copied and it it's just like everything else out there....lol

i missed the ties to the rest of QT's universe. I don't know, I just thought I would enjot it more.
